Insurance and managed care continue to be an area of concern for consumers, healthcare organizations, and insurance companies as the U.S. healthcare system continue to struggle in meeting healthcare needs. There are various, pressing issues regarding insurance and managed care. This assessment will provide an opportunity to explore one of the issues in greater depth through research and writing an essay.

Write a 5 to 7-page paper/essay including the following about the selected healthcare category:
Summary of the current state of the selected category of healthcare in the U.S.
Explanation of at least 2 specific issues the U.S. struggles with within the selected category
Description of 3 potential solutions that would improve the selected category in the U.S. healthcare system
Identification of at least 1 advantage and 1 disadvantage of each solution presented
From the 3 identified solutions, select the preferred solution and provide a rationale for the selection
Include a cover page, introduction, conclusion, and reference page with 3-5 references, formatted APA style.

You must proofread your paper. But do not strictly rely on your computer’s spell-checker and grammar-checker; failure to do so indicates a lack of effort on your part and you can expect your grade to suffer accordingly. Likewise, large type, large margins, large indentations, triple-spacing, increased leading (space between lines), increased kerning (space between letters), and any other such attempts at “padding” to increase the length of a paper are unacceptable, wasteful of trees, and will not fool your professor.
The paper must be neatly formatted, double-spaced with a one-inch margin on the top, bottom, and sides of each page. When submitting hard copy, be sure to use white paper and print out using dark ink. If it is hard to read your essay, it will also be hard to follow your argument.
