In the ICU, nursing leadership is critical for making patient health-care decisions. The decision-making approach, however, must be based on evidence-based research on the distinction between medical and physiologic care and nursing care. As a result, there has been a lot of pushback for nurses to be included in ICU leadership and policy formulation.

 Attempts to increase nurses’ engagement in ICU nursing patient care and policy formulation are hampered in part by a lack of data on nurses’ impact on health care quality metrics and an excess of medical research articles (Wang et al., 2018). As a result, understanding the impact of nurse leadership styles on quality indicators in intensive care settings is critical.

Quantitative research is defined as research that can be accurately and precisely quantified. The qualitative study by Kiwanuka et al. (2021), clearly described the participants’ voices and developed findings from qualitative data analysis and interpretation. A quantitative method of addressing this problem would be an examination of statistical data relating to the quality of nursing care in the ICU.

 An in-depth examination of articles on medical care and nursing care in the ICU can aid in narrowing down relevant data to the best approach of the best nursing leadership style to employ in the ICU and improve patient quality of care. A quantitative study was done to investigate online information for parents caring for their preterm newborn at home(Alderdice et al., 2018). According to Alderdice et al. (2018), there is a significant association between ICU nursing care and excellent nursing care.
