Topic 6 DQ 1

Assessment Description

Review the evidence-based practice project ideas you described in Topic 5 DQ 1. Based on your initial ideas, what types of scholarly nursing research (such as quantitative or qualitative research, peer-reviewed resources, etc.) would be required to further investigate the issue? Select an article related to your topic. Identify the criteria you would use based on the CRAAP test to evaluate the appropriateness of the research. Why is it important to select research that meets these criteria? Evaluate the “CRAAP Test” article from the New Jersey Institute of Technology Library, located in the topic Resources. Explain the five criteria as they relate to your selected article.

Role Of Research And Research Process For Advanced Registered Nurses Sample Approach NUR 513

In the ICU, nursing leadership is critical for making patient health-care decisions. The decision-making approach, however, must be based on evidence-based research on the distinction between medical and physiologic care and nursing care. As a result, there has been a lot of pushback for nurses to be included in ICU leadership and policy formulation. Attempts to increase nurses’ engagement in ICU nursing patient care and policy formulation are hampered in part by a lack of data on nurses’ impact on health care quality metrics and an excess of medical research articles (Wang et al., 2018). As a result, understanding the impact of nurse leadership styles on quality indicators in intensive care settings is critical.

Quantitative research is defined as research that can be accurately and precisely quantified. The qualitative study by Kiwanuka et al. (2021), clearly described the participants’ voices and developed findings from qualitative data analysis and interpretation. A quantitative method of addressing this problem would be an examination of statistical data relating to the quality of nursing care in the ICU. An in-depth examination of articles on medical care and nursing care in the ICU can aid in narrowing down relevant data to the best approach of the best nursing leadership style to employ in the ICU and improve patient quality of care. A quantitative study was done to investigate online information for parents caring for their preterm newborn at home (Alderdice et al., 2018). According to Alderdice et al. (2018), there is a significant association between ICU nursing care and excellent nursing care.

CRAAP is an acronym for Currency, Relevance, Authority, Accuracy, and Purpose. Use the CRAAP Test to evaluate your sources. Currency: initially published on September 2, 2020; no revisions have been made. The material is up to date for my topic, and the links work. Relevance: the knowledge is relevant to my issue and provides an answer to my inquiry. Frank Kiwanuka BNurs, CNS, Rose Clarke Nanyonga RN, Ph.D., Natalia Sak-Dankosky RN, Ph.D., Patience A. Muwanguzi RN, Ph.D., Tarja Kvist RN, Ph.D. are the authorities. The material is accurate since it is based on research and other research papers and is backed by proof. The information’s goal is to inform and teach.
